I am excited to announce that I will be developing curriculum and guest instructing in 2009. My first class is tentatively scheduled for May 2009 and is being hosted by Faux Assured Studio, Salt Lake City UT. The five day class will cover wall, ceiling, ornamentation, and architectural finishes grouped into complete room schemes. Further details and final dates will be posted soon, on www.ornamentumonline.com and at www.fauxassured.com . I am also working on a three day curriculum for Chicago Institute of Fine Finishes. I recently glazed the common areas in this Boise home and was then asked to complete a hand painted design element above the fire place. With the clients input, I sketched the design first on paper and then directly on the surface. We decided on a monochromatic paint scheme as the home owner wanted the element to remain somewhat subtle. The ornamentation was painted with artist brushes using a mixture of acrylic colorants. The entire space was finally over glazed using the same mixture cut with an acrylic glaze.
